Development has stopped on this website due to the school board developing a website for all schools in its district. However since we have enjoyed working with all the great people at Grandview & simply working on this site in general we have decided to keep this site up as an example site. Not all sections where completed but this site will give you a good idea as to what can be done for a child friendly & community oriented site.

Welcome back to school. New beginnings are always exciting for both students and staff. At this time, I would like to particularly extend a warm welcome to all the new families moving into the Grandview school area. We look forward to getting to know the new students in our school and want to assure them that Grandview is a caring, positive and great place to be.

It has always been Grandview’s goal to provide interesting, challenging and rewarding programming experiences for children within an understanding school setting. This is of utmost importance in promoting learning success, and thus we sincerely strive to maintain a close relationship between the home and the school. Please do feel free to visit or telephone the school (277-2322) whenever questions, a concern, or an interest arises. Please plan to attend some or all of the monthly school council meetings, the dates of which will be noted on the monthly calendars. Your involvement in your child’s education and a close relationship between the home and the school sets the stage for success and can only be to the advantage of all concerned.

Cookbooks
We still have copies of our personalized Grandview/Rolling Hills Cookbook 2005 edition left for sale. This cookbook is a collection of family recipes that are “tried, tested and true”. If you would like to purchase cookbooks, please send a note with your child to the school office. Our promotion on these cookbooks are $3.00 each or 2 for $5.00. They are a great addition to any gift basket!

Yearbook
We are currently working on the Grade 4 yearbook. If any parents have pictures of the Grade 4 Christmas Concert, please send them to the office for the Yearbook committee. We would appreciate any pictures that you have, but please be reminded that a digital picture would produce a better finished product. This would really help when compiling the yearbook to ensure that all students are included.

Dropping off Students

Just a little reminder, if you are dropping off students in the morning, please make sure that they wait at the office until the buses begin unloading. Students should not be in their classrooms before the arrival of buses. Students arriving late should be signed-in at the office. We also would like to remind all visitors to the school, including parents picking up their children to report to the office so that we know who is in the school at all times.

Pediculosis Alert
This is the time of year to be extra vigilant with respect to head lice. Parents are asked to check at home on a regular basis and to report any cases of head lice to the school. The continued support and co-operation of our parents will ensure fewer incidents now and in the future. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the school office…Thanks.

Park out of the bus lanes…Please!

Parking at Grandview - The busses are parked single file parallel to the sidewalk. Students walk onto their busses straight from the sidewalk. Although the students should not be walking between the busses, we cannot guarantee this will not happen especially when well over 600 students are dismissed between the two schools. Therefore, we would like your support by not parking or driving on the south side of the parking lot during student drop off or pick up. We have located a staff member south of the dumpster to assist students getting in or out of cars. Please do not park in this area. It is for drop off and pick-up only. If you do happen to be parked on the south side of the driveway during this time, we would appreciate it if you wait until the busses are dismissed. You may have to park a little further from the school, but it will ensure the safety of our students.
